It is ugly and says "player" but ...

It isn't a horrible deal at $7500.

Corvette engine and appears to be in good shape. I wouldn't mind taking it for a test run.

My eyes!

Tippy 08-29-2012 04:05 AM

That's a parts car at this point......

Why?
Because I'd like to feel how a 911 drives with a Corvette engine. And I'd like to see how the engine integration was done. Never know what you might learn.

It would be worth it just to see the heart attacks it would give the more 'stick-in-the-mud', pretentious PCA members.

Wonder how much rust is hidden under that fiberglass...

tomphot 08-29-2012 05:13 AM

I wonder how the "stero" works?

5String43 08-29-2012 06:09 AM

Yes, and what an absolutely gorgeous "Corvette" engine, too. Carburetor and all. Vettes have used efi for, what, 20 years now or so?

Dont hate 'THE PLAYER", hate the game.

I have to admit that my initial impression was "damn! Some people need to keep their negative opinions to themselves." Proceeded by "wait until I start on my ice green 911" BUT then I looked at the ad and then "DAMN! .... nevermind, that thing is !" Did you guys see the vert? Well here let me show you: ;)

Is it the area?

1967 Porsche Convertible

The wheels look interesting... Are they 15s? Some deep dish on the rears!

Anybody have any eye bleach I left mine at home

Until recently, the only thing different between a 327ci or 350ci Chevy engine and a Corvette engine was the internals. So it isn't inconceivable that this engine is "Corvette spec" if it isn't a Corvette engine. I just don't think it makes sense to put any iron block V8 into the back of a 911.

I really would like to know what movie set this car was built for.

The movie was "Cool as Ice" starring Vanilla Ice. This was the reject.

If a V8 is good enuff for RUF, why not?

I have seen a lot worse. Much worse. My only comment on this is - if you are trying to sell your car, wouldn't you at least vacuum it out before taking pictures?
