1990 911 RUF package?

Hi,

Can anyone enlighten me on what the RUF package on a 1990 911 C2 cab is? I've searched a number of different places and can't seem to find any info.

Thx
Chris

Is this on a car you are seeing for sale and they are saying it is equipped with "the RUF package"? Sorry to answer your question with questions, but there really isn't any such thing. A car could have been sent to RUF in Germany to be massaged. Or it could have been sent to RUF USA, which is a franchise that has changed hands 4 or 5 times in the last 15 years. Or it could have some RUF parts on it that were purchased by the owner.

Long story short, anything truly "RUF" as far as a build is concerned is pretty much bespoke. The only way to know what is in the "package" is to ask the person who put it together. Could be a body kit and a set of wheels. Could be a whole lot more.

Curiosity got the better of me and I went to look at the car.
It has RUF Wheels, steering wheel, exhaust tips, side mirrors, front lip, turbo tail, dashboard RUF badge a couple of RUF decals and a CR2 decal. No indication of modified suspension or engine.

You are correct in that it was an assembly of RUF parts - under their RUF-FINISHING program (found it buried on their website).

Story gets more interesting - current owner has had it for 6 years and put 2,000 miles on it in that time (odometer indicates 40K miles total)- and it's an ROW spec (WP0ZZZ).

Unfortunately no option sticker visible, but did find a couple of stickers in engine bay with what appears to be Japanese characters.

I see the sticker is in Japanese which means it would have been done by the Ruf concern in Kyoto or Volks near Nagoya. Pity such a car can't enter the US without getting hits heart and sole ripped out.
