I had forgotten

how friggin' strange many Porsche people are. Since I have been looking, I have had people contact me indicating they had a car for sale. I respond, then nothing, not a call back or email. Like it never happened.

I called one dealer (ugh, I knew it was the wrong thing to do as I hate em') about a 911 for sale. No tools, no pump, no jack. So, as soon as the poor buyer gets in, drives off and gets a flat........he is screwed. Dealer response? Those are easy and cheap to find and buy........so I'm thinking, then why don't you do it?

There was a guy on ebay with what appeared to be just what I am looking for, I contact him. He gives me his home email, I have written to him three times and twice on ebay contact..........nothing.............
I'm in the car hobby to get away from wacko's.......it ain't workin'

I'm starting to think that Rod Serling has written a script to drive me insane..............

I would suggest starting with the FS cars here. Don't do the WTB thing - I found it was a lot of trolling for the n-e-w-b types to try and pawn off a lemon. I had several guys e-mail me wanting to sell me cars well over the market price that were "totally great cars" and then never write back when I ask them about specific things - like "what's the oil consumption on this car?" Basic stuff.

Wait for the car you want here, skip eBay and Craig's List.

Thanks Eric........I was beginning to think it was me....................well, maybe just a little me..........I don't ask for much, although honesty is at the top of my list.

I disagree. I bought a LOCAL project 356 off the bay, and a perfect 911 off craigs list. Correction: I bought the 356 directly from the seller after seeing it on the bay. THE car MAY be found anywhere.

I agree that it's possible, but either you have to have experience and the ability to go see the car in person, or the patience of a saint. I looked out in the great wide world for two years before coming to Pelican. I found a car in three months here.

I heard a LOT of stories, let me tell you.
