1987 yellow Coupe on the bay - Vienna/VA

Hi,
Has by any chance anybody taken a look at the nice looking Coupe in Vienna in person?
Auction number is 221176214654.
Seller is not veryhelpful regarding requested pictures and he is also not sure weather this is the original color.

Any input would be kindly appreciated

I was bidding on the yellow car but I can only go so far when bidding on a mystery car with so little information. There must be room left for error.

A good for instance is the 1985 Coupe (blue) on Ebay currently. I wanted that car so I contacted the seller.

The guy must be CIA or scared, of a lot. Getting up front info on the car was impossible. He wrote me several times in fragmented sentences with little to go on. Even provided his home email..........in which he never answered.

I don't understand people, you want to sell it? Provide the stinkin' information.

I have lost count of people I have contacted to answer a few questions on purchase of their car........nothing.......no response.

I have inquired about the yellow coupe as well. The car is actually in PA not VA. The seller quickly answered a few questions . I have some reasonable background on the car having spoken to previous owners.

According to the seller he replaced the wire harness and an injector. Yes thats pretty vague and no he didnt comment further.

The title history is somewhat spotty and I suspect the car is not titled in the sellers name nor in VA or PA. The car changed hands via ebay back in 2008 and then again but not via eBay a little over a year ago. Seller says its his dads car.

Its reached the limits of what I am willing to risk sight unseen. The car is only an hours drive and I would go see it in a heart beat if the seller got back to me.

Is it the summer yellow car that was F/S at Hershey last year ? Supposedly it's the only US summer yellow coupe .

It was in Excellence a year or so ago. I contacted the seller who seemed ok but wanted too much (I think 28k) for me to buy unseen. If it was local I would have gone to see it for sure but didn't have the time to go to PA.

If as described I think its worth circa 30k in that color.

What is the actual paint color code on the car?
L13k has been called both sunflower yellow and summer yellow over the years. I call it by the German name, limonen gelb, which I find accurate since there is a tinge of green in it.

I own an '86 in that color. I have yet to see another '86 in the same color that was a Carrera, only 930's. The original 2008 ad I found fit this '87 says it is one of 10. Definitely a rare color if it is original.

Fully agree on your points, had to laugh about your comment - Cal44 - the guy with the blue Coupe,
just no response, no additional pics, nothing.
Even w. the closesd auction without reserve met w. a nice mail, that I am seriously interested, no response.

Let`s call them them the CIA sellers - lol.

I fully agree, these price levels are already to high to buy without any clear status on the car.

Same w. craigslist, I keep writing nicest mails and get beck - if at all, just single words like yes or no.

This car is not the one that was in Excellence. That was another '87 in summer yellow, but modified.

Sellers get (even more) flaky when they are hiding stuff. No issues--->no need to flake.

I am almost 100% sure that the car is not titled in his name or in the State of PA or VA which also means I probably cant get involved.
