What is this car really worth? owner wants to trade me for a Unimog

2003 Porsche 911 Carrera $50,000 Or best offer - 100550370 | Custom Luxury and Exotic Car Classifieds | Luxury and Exotic Car Sales

Owner of this Porsche called me and wants to swap me for a Unimog that I have listed for sale. Wanted to know what you guys thought about it. Looks nice, and I need another one like I need another hole in my head! But hard to not take a look at it. Just don't want to make a big mistake, as I don't know about the newer cars. So what is it really worth? Thanks for you help.

In my mind, since the mods really narrow the audience for the car, they are not additive to the final price. If those mods are EXACTLY what you want, then you would be stupid not to buy it. But if the mods are a "meh, whatever", then pass this one by. This car will still be for sale come fall at this price, so you have plenty of time.

Personally, I would only buy a turbo car in the 996 line. And those you can get for $30-40k in good shape.

Eric, that is what I was thinking, as I am asking $39K for the one Unimog that he is interested in. I don't think this car is worth over $30k, as least not to me.

50k can get you a gorgeous, low mileage 996 Turbo these days. Pick of the litter.

Or a very nice 997 S.

As said above, if somehow this is the exact car you want, and the work has been done well, it may be worth it.

Likely to be tough to sell down the road.

You'll also learn pretty quick who your true friends are. They'll be the ones who pull you to the side and say 'you know we're friends, but. . .'

Think about it; the owner of that car (I hesitate to use the words 'Porsche' or '911') would rather have a UNIMOG and take and $11,000 hit (on paper) than keep the 2003 C4S he already owns. That's quite a statement.

I don't think the mods add to the value of the car. In fact, I would say that in this case they are probably a negative. Car is probably worth 10-20% less than a stock C4S.

Cool color but I agree with the rest Very tough to sell outside Miami
It also does not have a GT3 cup engine. It looks like a 3.8S x51 motor M97 motor

I agree, looks like a poser to me and the seller sounds desperate.
