I mention the cap because I find his whole emergence fascinating. In talking with the buyer, he was mentioning how his friends were getting more into these cars. Adding more spice to 'cult' culture is helping the the value of these cars and introducing a new level of cool to newer buyers. With that said, don't 'fire-sell' the car... I would list your car for $25 and go through the PPI process and work your way down but you shouldn't take anything less than $23 - solely my opinion. The color is really attractive, a darker interior is better, but you should do well.

I now drive a 997 daily... but in the back of my mind, I want another air cooled... I actually miss the hunt to get another one.

a darker interior is not what I would want for thee west coast.
metalic blue with tan/saddle/Palomino interior is quite handsome, I'm still kicking myself for not acting quickly years ago (2007?) on Ebay was a low mileage RHD 76 turbo in that color scheme.
It still had London plates on it and never federalized, the seller had somehow got it in many years ago and never did it. I have forgotten which U.S. state he was in but vaguely remember looking up his location as being deep in the farmlands/boonies...strange place in the US to find a 76 RHD Turbo
I wonder where that car is today...it sold for just above my bid of $17K with the opening bid of $15K no reserve, ended at $18.9K if Im correct

I don't know if anyone pays attention to NADA, but here's what it says:

Low Retail: 19,100
Average Retail: 22,900
High Retail: 31,600

I guess that's kind of in line with the discussion

If I was in the market I would pay more for this color. It is one of my all time favorites. Ive got a thing for blues.

I think it is a low to mid 20's car. As others said, start at $25 and allow for negotiation.

Mark, your car is beautiful. The additional pics really represent the true beauty of the Iris blue metallic. Reminds me of what I loved about it. Good luck with the sale and report back your experience.

Thanks! You must have looked at the ad I posted? Probably "too much information"...buy that's just the way I roll I guess. I had a bunch more pictures of the underside, engine, suspension, wheel wells, etc....but started thinking this is probably overkill

Mark.

Funny... I was going to comment on that. My ad was the opposite, kept it simple. Figured I didn't want to put everything out on the first date so to speak. Most of the emails I got were asking for more pics overall as well as the underside of the engine, so you'll beat those requests... Since I'm in good market here in CA, I really wanted to sell it locally, which I did. Had 2 appointments to see the car the very next day and the second guy snagged it. You'll see first hand just how much demand there is for coupes right now. In hind sight I should have asked a bit more, but hey, the buyer was more than tickled and I was sincerely happy to be part of his buying experience. I also offered to buy the car back too, so Deryck, if you read this, my offer still stands brother!

I'm just anal. I figure when I look at someone's ad if it's long distance I want to be able to feel like I'm crawling all over the car. On craigslist my ad is short. Basically what it is, and don't send me an email - call me or I won't get back to you kind of thing. But for Pelican I figure I'd post the kind of ad I'd want to read. I'm not much of a salesman...too much of an engineer!

When I sold my car in Sept on this board, I had just about the same description that you did along with a link to a photo library. In my case, I was fixated on ensuring that I represented the car correctly, which the eventual buyer told me was precisely the case.

I think you have done this pretty well yourself (although you will most likely will still get a request for the odd ball shot or two).
