What's a perfect 87 Carrera tail worth?

My GP White 87 came with a removed Carrera tail that I believe was only on the car for a few years if that. It is original Porsche equipment in fantastic condition. What should I ask for it? The decklid on my car has the mounting holes from the tail patched with rubber plugs. It seems easier to have my decklid repainted than to deal with shipping mine out and getting a replacement, but I'm open to this method if the market has a strong bias.

(I'm in CT if anyone is interested...)

Putting it back together and selling it whole, while getting a naked lid and repainting it GP White will be on the plus side for you, money-wise.

Here are some pics. The condition is really pretty outstanding, easily 9 or 10/10. Has original porsche stampings.

Is $500-$850 about right for the tail + decklid? I'm going off old Pelican ads. Some are listed over $1k on ebay but I don't know if they'll sell.

Wow, that *is* nice.

I don't think there's any doubt you could get $800 out of that, plus the decklid.

$800-1200 depending on how quickly you want to sell and whether or not you are willing to ship.

Sold my original tail that was on my 87 Targa for $600 plus shipping on Pelican back in Sept. It sold in one day with at least 5 inquiries.
