Value of 964 G50 w/LSD?

Hello all, as I have posted in the past, I have a 93 964 C2 w/ 133k mi with a 5th gear that has a tendency to pop out during decel. Otherwise shifts fine. I have recently purchased another G50 to swap in. How much do you think the current transmission is worth as is? My car has the option code 220 (for LSD). I plan to jack it up and spin the rear wheels to confirm. A potential local buyer (LA area) can even drive the car before I have it swapped out. What would be a fair price to ask? Thanks for your input.
John

Wow, that much? Even with the unknown 5th gear pop out problem?

Yep. Core G50 boxes are worth $3000. The LSD adds a $1000. Fixing 5th gear doesn't even require full teardown of the gearbox. Pull off the end cover and it is right there. Probably something as simple as a bent fork. Might not even require pulling gears if it is the fork.

I'm puzzled. Had the trans priced down to 1800 and found a buyer but he changed his mind (fitment issues). I thought leaving the trans in the car for prospective buyers to try would bring more interest but I have not been able to sell it yet. What do you guys think? Would I be better off just doing the swap and then posting it for sale once it's out of the car (more instant gratification appeal to a buyer who doesn't want to wait) or leave it in the car for people to try it out (less uncertainty since a buyer can actually test the trans)?
Thanks

I think the greatest liability is not opening it up to the national market by agreeing to ship it. I think if you will ship it and throw it on eBay for a week it will easily clear $3k. And take it out of the car so you can deliver at once.
