How much would you pay? - 87 coupe

1987 Carrera coupe with sunroof
Guards Red over Black interior, no rear spoiler
Fuchs, no mods.
139k miles, no engine or transmission rebuild but supposedly still good.
Interior/exterior are in good shape.

If it was under 100k, maybe $25k? But as is, with no engine rebuild, maybe below $20k?

Just looking for some ball park estimates.

Thanks!

Too little info.....people these days just think that they can throw out a little info and get an estimate.

If you want help then post all info and pics - from what you are telling us the car could be 10-25K. Does that help you at all?

Let's see, what else do I know?

3 owner car, some time in Colorado and California.
Clutch done at 70k but not sure how many years ago that was.
Sunroof is stuck.
AC works but not great. Other electrics all work.
I was wrong about mods, it does have a strut brace (not sure of the brand). Also appears to have an aftermarket amplifier in the front trunk area.
From the pictures, paint looks good, as does the interior. 7-8 out of 10 for both. Haven't seen it in person so it's hard to tell.
No visible rust or paint bubbles.
Seller says carfax is clean, but haven't verified it for myself.

The car has the exact specs I want, the only issues are the high mileage and the fact that I can't go see the car in person.

Thanks in advance for any additional thoughts.

These cars have surged in value lately.

If the only non-working thing on the car is the sunroof, then it could well be a $24-25K car.

The color hurts it a bit, for the market in general. Something about the commonality and flash of red is a 10% value hit, in my experience. Personally, I'm fine with red.

There are a hundred little details that all add up. The '87 Carrera I'm currently selling has $10K in upgrades over a stock car. This is relevant ONLY if those are the upgrades you want and would spend money for in the future. If they are not, the value of the car is unchanged.

Beyond the upgrades, you have condition of paint, upholstery, chassis, brakes, tires... etc. All potentially variable based on 26+ years of operating in the real world.

See if you can get an expert nearby to go see the car and thoroughly inspect it (a pre-PPI).

Oh, and as for miles, I don't consider 139K on a 26 year-old car to be high miles at all. It's 5K miles per year. In my experience, a well-maintained 3.2 is good for 250-300K miles.

^^^^I do not see any flaws with this analysis.
