1974 ROW Carrera (Establishing Value)
Good Morning Everyone,
I need assistance establishing value on my 1974 ROW Carrera for insurance purposes. Every site I look at provides values for USA Carreras, but not Euro Carreras. Does anyone know where I could look to provide info for insurance? Thanks so much SmileWavy Jeff http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1368639874.jpg |
Too little info..........
On your info between 15 and 75K! Is it a salvage dog or is it a gem with 3K miles? |

Show them some examples of what '76es are trading hands for, tell them your car is basically the same thing (though less rare and therefore less valuable) and see what they say. |
There are a lot of separate threads on '74s on the earlySregistry, I was going to link you to a particular one but didn't find it. Also Jurgen at 2shores has had several for sale in the past couple of years, but they don't have prices listed. You might try contacting him to see if he'll tell you what the approximate selling prices were.

I would say you would be safe at $50K value, but I would insure it for $75K at least.
1) It is a 1974, which to me is the rarest, most valuable year because it is the only correct year for a ducktail on a short nose Carrera 2) The motor by itself is going for huge money 3) You never, ever see them for sale (at least over here anyway). 4) It is the sleeper of the 911 bunch, so much so people will look back and say that they should have bought one when they could have and will have serious regrets Why not just insure it for $100K at this point and I don't think you'd be sorry at doing this. Seriously, this is the next Carrera RS. I am saving my money and if one ever comes up (or a '75) this is the car to have. These are special cars, and in 5 years people will wake up and see. |
Looking for 1974 porsche euro carrera
I AM CURRENTLY SEARCHING FOR A 1974-1976 EURO CARRERA MFI. ANY LEADS ARE WELCOME. I'M LOCATED IN SO.CA , BUT WILL TRAVEL TO PURCHASE.
WOULD ALSO PURCHASE A 1974 US MODEL FOR RIGHT PRICE. SEND ME AN EMAIL WITH ANY INFO. richthompson@mel-inc.com ALL THE BEST DRIVING FOR FUN ! RICH |
I thought a Euro 2.7 MFI was a $150k now a days. The only two I see for sale lately are both over $160k! I would be insuring it for that kind of value if the car is in excellent condition.
