Price Check: 3.0 Liter with nice mods

I'm thinking about parting out my 911, and the first thing to go would be the 3.0 liter. It is a 1981, with about 80,000 miles. Compression and leakdown numbers are great with no issues. The motor has the following mods:

11 blade fan
turbo valve covers
964 cam
Webb Aluminum Airbox

My question is, what would this motor be worth complete, with all wiring? Essentially, it'd be a plug and play swap.

Also, I have a 915 with 4.31 gears and a turbo clutch.

Would like to establish a fair price in here, and then post in the classifieds. Car is located in San Diego.

If you have no history of the build and can only substantiate its condition by saying "runs good" then I think you'll be lucky to get 3500-4000 bucks for it. Does it have pressure fed tensioners ? At 80K miles it's getting time to think about taking the heads off and doing a valve job. If you can do a compression check or bleed down and the numbers are good, maybe a little more. Spending $30 for a spectroscopic oil analysis might tell a prospective buyer more about the condition of the engine - I'd definitely want that before I bought it.

Just my $0.02

Yes, it has the tensioner update. Compression and leakdown numbers are good. Looking at ebay, these things are selling regularly around 6k, thats what I was thinking was fair. Cores are going for over 3500-4000...

It's unlikely you have a 4:31 trans. More likely a 7:31 or 8:31. the latter would be correct for a stock SC.

this transmission is not stock, I was told 4.31, but maybe I'm mistaken and it is a 7.31...
