1984 911 Carrera Value
What is the value of a 2 owner excellent condition 1984 Carrera?
The car is dark blue w/ Burgundy interior, low miles 71,000, sports seats, original paint, records, and owners manual, tools, everything but radio.... cars has been lightly used for the last 10 years, garage kept its entire life. Owned by great people...... I am thinking this is close to a $30,000 car, Am I off base...... what is it worth..... The color is magnificent. Luke

Car sounds great & I love that dark blue color but my first question would be : have the valve guides been addressed, if not at some point that's going to come back to you. Is the cat still on ?
The market is high right now, but I would start at $20 - 24k. |

hmm.. does "owned by great people" add or detract? not sure anymore
![]() Coupe? Cab or Targa? How are the rubber parts - fuel lines, brake lines, suspension parts etc. 15" wheels? 16" wheels? spoilers? LSD? what are the option codes? Why no radio or simply non oem radio? How's the headliner? trunk struts? How old are the tires? Recent valve adjustment? Then there's the 915 vs G50 price differences/premiums. For a "flipper" it would be marketed at 30K.. is it worth it? I would think closer to 20-25 as well.

Come on Racer; in this world of "do what it takes to sell it?" integrity is a plus in any transaction....
Car is bone stock except for a front lip spoiler, radio and chip (stock included). This car would be an excellent preservation type car.... The reason I asked is the paint and color really is exceptional..... in the longhood world that is worth a premium...... the color is albert blue-ish..... The interior is a slightly worn but the burgundy color again is not common..... Mechanically I assume sound but the car will probably need a light maintenance. Yes, Cat is still on. I wasn't able to take pictures that do it justice....

30k buys a nice G50 car, a nice 964, or a 993 with higher mileage so I just don't see that money. The color combination sounds like a nice plus but, imo, you are looking at closer to a 25k car. I think a similar car in guards red would be closer to 20k.

Personally I prefer the 915 over G50 so I dont add that in to my price point, however many others would pay much more for a G50 I love that blue color ! but I think you should factor in the inevitable which usually is somewhere between $5k - 10k or more depending on how far you go ... |

It's a 24 - 25k car in reality. 30 would be a bit high even for a dealer.

ok.. where did I miss it again.. COUPE?, TARGA? or CAB? Option codes? 15s or 16s? To me a Targa is NOT the one for high value. Coupe or Cab can certainly be worth more.
While less popular perhaps in 911s of that vintage, I see lots of 1980s 944s with burgundy interiors. just saying.
