Pastel Yellow

Whats the general opinion on Pastel Yellow Porsche 911's? I came across a 996 with the aero kit in this color. I kinda like it and from what I've seen its rather rare. I realize its sort of an acquired taste. I have just seen internet pictures of it,so are they ugly rolling Easter eggs up close and do most folks avoid this color resale wise?

I think it depends on the car, I had a 1996 993 in pastel yellow, I loved it, saw it on a boxster and it did nothing for me. If YOU like it, go for it, that is what is important.

I assume it looks like this?

I like the color. The aero kit, not so much.

I have a '75 911S that was originally a light yellow, probably similar to this color. It's been repainted black and the paint is bad. When I do get around to fixing the paint I will certainly return it to that original color, but I think it will look better in general on an old Porsche.

BTW, I talked to the original owner. He said he painted the car black in 1984 because of too many speeding tickets in the car when it was yellow...

Kirk, Is your car Sahara Beige by any chance? I have a 74 911 that was originally Sahara Beige. I have been debating going back to this color or not. I like the light yellow on the pictured GT3 but I have not seen Sahara Beige in person. It looks to be a little different then this shade. I like the seventies hues but I lean towards the brighter colors. I have searched Sahara Beige on this website but a few of them look different. It's probably just the lighting in the pics.

Andy.

Andy,
Search Google or other for "sahara beige porsche 911" then click images.
You'll get some idea of color.
