87 911 Cab. cool color combo..what's it worth?
I have an 87 Cab. It's yellow with brown interior and top. Sounds a little funky, but looks really cool. It's just about to turn 107,000 miles. Runs great. Never been apart. Small puff of blue at start up that goes right away. Small spots of oil seepage, but no leaks. I put a new clutch in it for the PO about 20k ago.
The body has some paint work. I repaired the LT quarter a few years ago when the PO's wife dented it. Factory front and read rear spoilers. The car shows very well. The interior is very nice except for the drivers seat which has some wear . I'm going to have that repaired. It has sport seats. I think the top is the original and only has very minor wear. The car will come with the original 15x7&8 Fuchs. Yes, 15". The wheels on the car are not mine. Overall it's a great driver. Not perfect, but very nice. It's all stock and I have a lot of the service records, but not everything. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

there was a discussion somewhere about how cars with unusual colors hold their value better than the more common reds, blacks and silvers. I like this yellow - it's not as "in your face" as the brighter speed yellow.
I'd say this car is a $23-25K car for the right buyer. Because of the color you might have to wait longer for your buyer however.

I'm thinking the market is $25-26K for this. There may well be someone out there who loves the color. If you put it on eBay, you'll have a better chance of finding that one in a million buyer.
In '87, pretty sure the standard Fuchs were 16" though.

I thought so too, but I know someone that has an 87 cab he bought new and it has 15's. |

Leffingwell's "Buyers Guide" lists 15s standard w. 16s optional. Normally I don't disagree with the 'weenie man', but I think I will side with mpetry on his slightly lower price.

PCNA made some baseline rules for US dealers: no manual windows, no non-a/c cars, and for the most part, 16" Fuchs.
Exceptions had to be specifically ordered. Certainly this car, with full brown leather and sport seats was custom-ordered. |

I wasn't thinking of a special order, but I should have been thinking that.

I want that interior. I've never seen later model sport seats in brown. (If only that color).

I'm pretty sure the top & interior are "Mahogany"- ordered a White turbo body cabriolet with that color combination & it was stunning.
