912 matching numbers or not?
Posted in wrong forum at first....
Just looked at a 912 with engine number (on engine) 1280515. The engine number in the servicebook says P755833. Seller claims it to be matching. Am I missing something here? Christian

That engine number looks like a bad copy of a VIN number!?

The 128 number is a 68 engine, the small servicebook is a 66-67 booklet and the p755xxx number is a 66-67 engine
