$1200. Check on the way! Seriously, I have an '84 Cab and wonder this occasionally. I think in this market, where you are matters almost as much as what you have. Have you thought about doing your own PPI on your car to find out what it needs, is and so forth? That could help set it against the national market pricing better. I imagine the range is from $15K to $25K depending on all the variables.

pics would help. Targas are generally the least valuable of the 3 body styles.

Looks nice, and targas are priced higher in some markets. I think the ones who don't like them have receding hair lines... There's nothing like having the wind blowing in your hair, unobtainable for some...

I do not have a receding hairline and I don't like Targas. You either have a great coupe or a full cab halfway is well......

As a good starting point, you could check Hagerty's website. Their values are constantly updated as the market changes. This may give you a good point of reference.

With no records,150K miles and needing cosmetic work, you are being mislead by the folks suggesting anything in the $20's.
The fellow that suggested $14k is likely close. Targas do not bring as much as coupes, and cabrios usually bring the least if we are comparing equal cars and not including rare and oddball pieces. Location does play a role, as does the way the car is presented and your sales skills. Forget NADA and the like unless you want to keep your car. |

I'm sorry, the pic is tiny and shows next to nothing, or am I missing a click? are those 15 inch wheels? How is the dash? Anything ever been done to the transmission? How is the paint? Any broken head studs? Targa top condition? Recent work?
$12 to $14K is probably about right. Longhood prices are pushing up impact bumper prices. I got this 86 two years ago for $8500. Today it might be worth $16K. Prices are also somewhat localized, what the market will bear and all that. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Shaun 84 Targa, did you buy that car from a tall dude in Waterwon MA? Something like 160k on the clock? He kept it outside as he lived in an apartment/condo complex? I think I drove the car when I was looking....maybe. Was asking 9 something for it if I remember correct.

I was looking for my first Porsche.....feeling them out I guess. I didn't like the high mileage and cosmetically it was kinda dirty. Probably would have cleaned up ok. Ended up buying an 83 with MORE miles on it but had 20+ years of records and cosmetically is excellent. Was one of those "you will know the right one when you see it" kinda things......at the time the white one was not the one. Great price though. Small world. |

I tried to sell it but in the winter so no takers. a friend wanted to build a track car so I parted the car out, kept the motor for my 73 and he got the shell. Ended up with $23K for the car.
Glad you found the right one, post a pic. Small world indeed and let me know if you are ever around Watertown.

Here, let me provide virtually no information and one tiny pic. Now would someone please do all the work I just don't feel like doing and tell me what the car is worth?

How many times have most of us said the same thing? And then dug out our expensively acquired memory banks to help a [newbie?] ?
