Price check for a 2.0 motor?
Hi All,
I picked up a 71' Targa that had a 69 911T 2.0 motor installed. I'm going back to the 2.2 and want to sell the 2.0 motor It will be complete and seems to run strong. No other history on the motor. Any ideas as to a fair price? Thanks, k |

The best value is in re uniting the motor with the car. I would post over at Early S.

I sold a 1967 2.0L that had been rebuilt to E specs for $3000 or $3500, if that helps. That was in the summer of 2011.

The '67 would be more desirable then the '69 because the '67 is Alu case. Today I think that engine (the '67) would be closer to $5k.
The '69 is probably in that $3-3.5k range. |

would be a good plug-n-play for a 914/6 guy who needs a motor, too. 914club/world?

I think any good running/good spec 911 engine is worth $2500-3000 no matter what. The buyer's ability to run and test the engine prior to purchase is worth a lot in terms of ease of selling.

I've got a 2.2. Too bad I took it apart. A core in pieces is worth pennies on the dollar of a runner unless one wants to sell each little part one by one.

Just sold one complete with webers & in excellent shape for $3,500. Most of the 914-6 guys are going to want at a 3.0 or bigger. But you should post at 914world too. If the price is right it will sell. Compression numbers will help & maybe a video clip of it running
