911 to 993 conversion how much is it worth
Hi All,
I need some help on trying to figure out how much my car is worth its a bit of a one off. The car was completely gone through about 6 yrs ago. Here is a list of parts that were replaced/upgraded. Its originally a 1977 911. *Upgraded to a used 3.6L 964 engine *GHL headers, cat bypass pipes, and sport muffler. *Engine runs great, however the valve guides are worn and is getting a top end rebuild as we speak. *New oil lines and front oil cooler *915 transmission was rebuilt *WEVO short shifter *All suspension bushings were replaced *Koni shocks were rebuilt *Weltmisiter front and rear sway bars *21mm/28mm torsion bars *All new wheel bearings *Brey Kraus strut bar. *996 turbo brakes *BBS RS GT wheels *Interior gone through, new headliner, door panels, dash, white face gauges, corbeau race seats, carpet, four point seat belts, harness bar, etc.. *American International Racing 993 GT2 body kit. *Aftermarket HID head lights *All ventilation and heater ducting was replaced *After market stereo system with amps and sub *Factory moon roof, power windows, keyless entry with alarm Has about 7k miles on since all parts were replaced. Too many many parts to list, have pages and pages of receipts. Any idea how much this car might be worth? Thanks for the help ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Cars like this are the hardest to price, IMO.
Lots of great bits, but all mashed together in a way that isn't really coherent. It is basically on the way to being a pure track car, but with an audio system and other add ons that don't support that vision. With a fresh rebuilt engine, rebuilt transmission, it probably has close to $15k in parts alone -- so that gives it a value floor. Maybe $20-25k to the "right" buyer. I bet it is a hoot to drive, but the body kit has very selective appeal, and the overall market favors more stock appearance on street cars, with fewer tails, flares, etc. For track cars, if it doesn't make it faster or handle better, it is excess and undesirable. It's a tweener that is simultaneously over the top in both directions, which makes it a hard sell.

To the right buyer, very small, perhaps $35K. Actually, more like $25k for broader appeal. Colb's last sentance pretty much sums it all up.

If ever there was a car made to be sold on ebay, this is it. The cognoscenti will never assign any value to it, for the well-articulated reasons above. Furthermore, my cynical eye assumes it looks much better in photos that person since finish is very hard to get right in such a comprehensive conversion. But I can well imagine some starry eyed 30 yr old doing a dollar for dollar comparison with a WRX or Impreza and thinking this is a steal for $30K. It's just that that person is not hanging out at Pelican or RList...

Price of the parts minus the labour to tear it apart - but like a previous poster wrote, some rally guy could swap it for his Impreza.
