Boy was I wrong. It sold for $37k!

This 1983 911SC coupe went for $31k.

1983 Porsche 911 3.0L, 5-Speed for sale by Mecum Auction

This 1975 911 (could be a carrera, maybe a look-alike) went for $17k (non-running due to fuel system)

1975 Porsche 911 2.7/165 HP, 5-Speed for sale by Mecum Auction

And some stole this 2005 Boxster at $13,500. That is a LOT of car for the money.

I suspect the real steal was the 1975 2.7. The Boxster sold price is super low, but in a few short years it will be worth that price or less. Not a knock against 986/7s as they are brilliant cars, but unlike air-cooled 911s, Boxsters are mass produced "consumables". But at that price, who cares? I'd buy one!

The 75 was well bought at 17k, and grand theft if a legit Carrera.

The Boxster may be a used car, but it is approaching the trough of its depreciation curve. It is the cheapest 987 I have seen in that condition (intact, unwrecked, without grenaded engine).

You could buy it at $13.5 + commission, drive the piss out of it for 2-3 years, and sell it for similar money. They are great cars.
