Keep giving him rope. Wayne will give him an attitude adjustment soon enough.

I am assuming this car is not currently running, and has major issues with the motor that need to be addressed before it is a runner.

Maybe not expensive issues, but issues.

$17.2k is a lot of money for a non-runner mid-year, IMO.

Still, it looks pretty nice and original. If the engine work can be done for 5K you could still wind up with a nice car. But I would not take the risk myself.

I bet that the good folks at the once was Motor Meister could stop the leak cheaply.

I believe I saw this on craigslist where he specifically says "This car does not drive." That should be a tough sell at that price.

Needs front seats, parked "for years", bad motor.

Yikes.

$17k+ is a LOT of ask for that car.

One doubts that it was prepared for storage when it was parked. Gummed up injection system, bad fuel lines, needs gas tank boil, seized brakes -- on top of the engine work.

If it was a driver I think the price would be fine. With engine issues it will sit for a while.

Anyone who buys a bumper-car for these prices is going to feel really stupid soon. That is if they haven't always felt stupid.

You can bookmark this post and prove me wrong later.

Are you referring to middies only or SCs and 3.2s as well?

I just bought a nice 3.2, but would LOVE to have a clean, original, nicely-sorted middie coupe. The narrow body and bright trim really do it for me...

glws lol, I am in the market for 1 but that is a 10k car at best, I think there are some people that will just ask crazy prices"because someone will buy it", look at the ebay sales vs listings this probably aint going anywhere fast!

2cam,
You and me both. I want a '74 targa, though I'm not willing to spend what they are currently selling for. Hoping for one with a popped motor to come along.

Why a 74. What does it have that a 76 or 77 doesnt a part from not being galvanized. In your climate I would think that a galvanized car was to prefer?

76 77 in the US have the infamous thermal reactors. Also have the modern mirrors not the stainless steel flags that complement the bright trim very well. I'm sure there are other differences as well but I forget.
