Example of a great Pelican FS ad

This is a great ad and a sharp looking car -

That is one of the better ones I've seen recently. Both the ad and the car itself. Of course you can't go wrong with blue either.

Not feeling the cloth seats, though. They don't really 'fit' the look of the rest of the interior. That and silver caps on black Fuchs always kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

Yes, it's an honest, straight-forward ad and a damn nice looking car. I will be shocked if it lasts until the weekend.

No, they're Ventus R-S3s (summer tire).

Fewer pictures of the seats might be a good thing.

The cloth definitely has selective appeal. Might be nice in a hot weather climate, but I've seen better looking seats that have more stock appearance. Those look overstuffed -- almost like the Recaros in the Purple Olive coupe, but in new condition, rather than waterlogged.

Great ad, though -- and a solid, well represented car.

Will be interested to see how long it lasts, and what it sells for.

The seller has posted on this forum before. Maybe he will share his sales experience when it is done.

Excellent ad. Disappointing about the seats and carpet. With original that car would be awesome. I hope someone buys it and takes it back to stock. That was a unique car.

That's a nice car. I don't care for the seats or the white/linen leather but perhaps it's to the taste of others.

I still find it shocking that a >100K mile 3.2 is predicted to sell quickly for >$32K. A/C and cruise inoperable, needs new seats, problems with oil pressure sender and no radio, but more than offset by G50 transmission and copious records?

Cheers

d.

I erased the part in my comment where I was going to say that I wasn't a big fan of the interior, but the positive there is that just about anyone can do a bit of work to redecorate without making it worse.

I may be off on my estimates, but it seems that if someone really wanted to replace the seats with something more original, a set of nice factory seats could be bought and re-dyed for <$1500.

If not $32500, where do you think it should be?

Seller mentions those are the original seats that he had recovered. I would just recover them again.
I've got weird tastes. I'd take that thing to a cars n coffee wearing a zoot suit.

The ad for the '86 Guards Red Carrera is pretty well done also. And at $22.7, that'll sell overnight.

Question colors

I've got the same model and color car, with linen interior. Mareineblau is a great color, but am considering replacing the floor carpeting to a marine/dark blue as white is hard to maintain- or would that be blasphemy?

Nice looking car, but my opinion is that this car is overpriced.
Many smart sellers may be starting to cash out at inflated prices.
Watch as the market finds a standoff b/w buyers and sellers.

I do not mean to insult anyone's car, but $32k gets you a G50 with under 100k.
  • Over 100k miles. Right there, you're not in $32k territory.
  • Non-original interior mods
  • Non matching cloth seats.
  • Has tail.
  • Why was the windshield replaced?
  • No cat?
  • Cruise doesn't work.
  • No radio.
  • Oil sending unit was disconnected instead of fixed.
  • Car has been tracked by seller
  • Engine looks dirty.
  • Caked on gunk around valve covers.

Sold in a heartbeat? By this weekend?
Maybe at $25k ...Let's see.

If you are talking about the coupe, it has been floating around eBay, and has "sold" at least once in the past few weeks, along with its white sibling from the same seller.

The red coupe has accident damage, pretty high miles that are not verified, and what appears to me to be some title goofiness.

The white targa looks good in the pics, but has had a recent repaint, targa top rebuild, and some other work that raises questions -- and is also mileage exempt with no mention of it in the ad. This car has "sold" on ebay several times.

Some weirdness on two cars from the same lot makes me wonder.

Ah yes, the famous market "standoff." I thought it was about "macro" factors. Did something in the "macro" economy change? Or called upon your nonsense, have you abandoned that whole confused bit?
