I'll ask again; "serious enthusiasts" of what, exactly?

Enthusiasts of headroom, simplicity and lack of water ingress. Weight? Sure. Not as important as simplicity, headroom and lack of water ingress.

But I'm one of those guys who doesn't like a sunroof in any car. I don't use them, I don't like them, and I'm just a guy who likes to drive Porsche. I guess I'm pretty serious about that. I seriously like to drive Porsche.

Understood. I've never been overly concerned about weight in my car, though I do consider myself hardcore performance oriented (to the extent that I can afford it, that is :)) . . . my philosophy is to increase horsepower in order to offset added weight! :D

Speaking of which, Eric, I know you've said that you would like to own a 930 at some point, so was wondering if you have driven one (stock, and/or one modded to 100+ hp over stock and with a better spooling turbo, and such). Talk about getting enthusiastic about driving Porsche! I get a couple of adrenalin dumps any time I drive it (even just to run a couple of errands). And I don't mean that I drive around like a teenage maniac, but that simply accelerating hard on a highway onramp, or making a quick pass, is such a haulass rush that I still get surprised by the thing (have ownded it a long time and am used to hard accelerating motorcycles, so not a newbie reaction thing). Too bad you don't live in North TexASS as I would let you give mine a spin (no homo)!

The lack of humor in this place makes me sad.

I've often thought the same thing, and quite frankly, been really surprised by the often utter lack of humor around here.

You probably recall that joke I made, a year or two ago, about a guy's hand looking like an "albino chimpanzee", and a couple of guys jumped my ass about that (I believe you made a "lighten up" type comment in response to one of them) - that reaction really threw me (but didn't curb the "poking", mind you :D)!

Some of the same type stuff in the Turbo forum - a couple of us routinely throw friendly barbs at each other and it never fails that someone will complain about our "hostility looks bad" and/or is stinking up the "g-rating of the forum". I guess it takes all kinds, but I would have thought more people on here would think the poking was a fun diversion to all the tech heavy chatter (much of which is centered on problems that owners are having with their cars). I'm all for the tech, and contribute my fair share of it, but it's nice to laugh, too.

Come to think of it, your car choice, noted in that other thread, is well deserving of a b*tch slap - get ready to duck and cover! http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/pe...y-emoticon.gif
