It is not a Porsche color. I believe it is from a 90's Honda. I have the color code and paper work from paint job.

The higher of the two offers was $28k. Im thinking I should have walked home

I keep seeing the prices of these cars go up, and just wondering how to value something like this.

Ha! You probably should have. But then again, what would you buy? Money comes and goes, pay down debt? Buy a house in Detroit? It would be hard to replace.

That is friggin sweet ride, I would not sell it unless you had to. The price sounds right as far as that goes, but it is not enough.

I have a mid myself a 77 3.2 dual plug

I have raised the suspension in there rear for drivability.

Thank you for the comments, are we in agreement that 28k is fair?

In the current market I would have said 28K is only just fair. I would have thought it was worth more. My shop has a 76 that we have been restoring to original and we expect it will be worth $30K+. It's very hard to know with any deviation from stock whether value has been added or subtracted.

If I was looking for a mid-year I would buy yours for $28K without hesitating because I know it would cost way more to reproduce it. These days a good, solid, rust free Mid-year daily driver is worth the best part of $20K and I know you have at least another $20K in your car just by reading the "new" list.

I hope you have a solid plan for this car's replacement because I know that with $28k in your pocket you will not be able to buy a Porsche half as pretty or well set up as the one one you already have. Good luck.

That is indeed a great looking car. I really like the '74s. They are my favorite year for some strange reason.

I realized that these had increased in value lately, but that seems surprising high and IMHO, if you had to sell now, that would certainly be fair. That said, you could never build that car for that. I have a slightly hot-rodded '74 with everything intentionally relatively stock (including paint color) other than the engine (modded 3.0), factory, year correct, sport seats (but not on the COA) , and "7 polished fuchs. It also has an almost perfect, glass out paint job (9+ out of 10) with little mileage and has been thoroughly gone through with new shocks/struts, brakes, etc. I would not sell for that price as it is exactly what I want and it would cost me $40K to build it again. That said, if I needed to sell, I would have been surprised to get much more than $20K. I guess the recent gains in real estate and the stock market are leaving some folks particularly flush these days.

That is a very cool car.

Once you get past the "its not stock" thing -- the paint is the biggest negative on what is otherwise a very nice build.

Everyone's tastes are different, but it is a shame it was not painted in a cool period color -- or even a earlier color like Gulf Blue.

With better paint in a better color, I could see this going mid-30s or higher.

I share all of the sentiments above -- this would be a hard car to replicate if you let it go.

I had a price of about 30-31k in my head and as stated, it would be impossible to rebuild or replace this car for that.

as for the paint, I can not say how many times I am asked about it or commented on it. Everywhere I go, that is the first thing people notice. The color in person is amazing on the car and works very well. The quality of the paint is outstanding. My crappy phone pics do not do it justice.

Would you do a partial trade for a Shelby Cobra replica?

$30-31 seems fair. To get good price feedback, you have to provide photos of the rust-susceptible areas and also compression/leakdown and/or dyno results.

Ahh, ok. Well there is a Porsche color Ice Green Metallic for your year and it looks nothing like that. Yours is still a nice color and a beautiful car I wish I could afford. I guess I'm lucky to have what I have now cause I don't see a coupe in my future with the way the prices have gone up on these cars.

This 1974 is Porsche Ice Green Metallic:

The straight-laced older brother to your outlaw. Asking $32,900, FWIW -- and seems like a decent price.

Both are cool cars in their own way, at similar price points.

That is kind of the reason for asking. I know its always hard to price modified vs originality. Guess it all depends on the buyer
