I would say $20k +\- $10k depending on details. Not enough information. Pictures are golden.

From the look of the hood, I would expect it to have significant rust. I think it is toward the lower end of Matt's $20 +/- $10k equation. Like $10-15k. The low mileage could be a bonus if verified, but it appears from your pictures to need $10-15k in rust repair and paintwork to be a $25k car. And that is probably optimistic, and assumes there are no mechanical issues. Still, it seems that 74-75 911S values have jumped SCs in comparable condition. It is a cool car, worth saving, and worth the investment. Just don't expect to make money doing it. FWIW, there was a blue 74 non-S in worse condition selling on the marketplace last week. I think the ask was $16k, and it sold pretty quickly -- but I would assume for a fair bit south of that.

yes car runs and drives great no smoke brakes are working and for some reason the hood is the worst part of the car as far as rust goes.....interior is really awesome i will try and get a better shot as it is all orignal and looks like a 9 out of ten.....still need to lift the car and that should paint a bigger better picture of whats there!!! think i just love the fact that its an s car and would love to see the value of it go to were my 72t would be had it been an "S".....

Obviously, you've seen the car and I haven't. Just don't let your excitement (which is understandable!) overcome due diligence. Quote:
All that being said, if it is not too rusty, it looks like a nice find. BTW -- this is the 1974 I was talking about: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/805798-1974-911-euro-non-sunroof-coupe.html

looks like the car may have been parked somewhere where the hood was exposed to some kind of drippings or such, that hood looks so beat up compared to the rest of the car (which is not great to begin with, just not half as bad as that hood!)

All '75-'77 cars are "911S" badged, it means nothing. Whopping 150 hp. In '74, they made a regular 911 and a 911S but the "S" was a slightly stronger CIS car, maybe 165 hp or something.
No one who knows 911s confuses these neutered mid-year cars with an early 911S. The difference in value is approximately one zero on the price. ![]() |

If it's a Northeast car, and I see you're from NJ, it's going to be a rusted mess underneath. Plus, parked on the grass? Could be really bad from the rockers down.

Just trying to set the record straight on the internet, NBD.
Having a 1975 "911S" is the special model equivalent of having a 1975 AMC Javelin with the stripe package. LOL

Mids are super cars and a lot of value for the $$. I'll never understand all the loathing they get directed toward them. My cherry mid was 17k a year ago. Even with the miles I'd put this in the 12-15k range.

Hey, I like Javelins. AMXs too. But Porsche decided in '75 that the newly de-tuned 911 should be called "911S", that was a new direction for them.

Thing is, the '75 911 and the '74 (both of which I have owned), drive a lot like a light car (because they are), but they are more refined making a long hood feel and respond like an old car. Anything pre-74 feels old to me - though more raw.
However, badging mid-years as an S almost is akin to Cadillac badging Chevy Citations as Cimarrons - there definitely were some shenangans afoot in the marketing department of both companies. |
