pricing question on '66 - 912

I have a rusty 912 roller. No engine or trans and missing seats and some other small parts. Looking to get $6k. Reasonable? Flame away

Is the floor missing or is the car just full of leaves?
If missing & without any running gear as you mentioned then I would be surprised if someone paid more than $1,500.
I have seen many on Ebay in similar condition. The bidding always stops at around $1,300-$1,500.

Has it got a title with it?
Do you know the VIN and paint colour?

If it was a rare one for one reason or another like 1 off paint colour or early build date than you may get someone paying more for it and using a better 912 as a donor to get a 'rare' version back on the road.

Probably get more for it parting it out.
Gauges look good so do many other removable items.

No flames here, just advice.

Have a look in the for sale section. There are better 912's available for low 4k and not selling.

W.

Calling that car a "roller" definitely requires some poetic license.

floors were cut out by po before a failed resto attempt. Right now it "rolls" on the brake disks. I agree, it's rough. I think it would make a great base for an outlaw build or a vintage racer. Definately a 6 conversion. I've seen the better 912's for lower prices but they are usually later cars. I don't know if a '66 is more desirable or not. I'm asking for any and all feedback so no hurt feelings here. Thanks

I just sold one in much, much better condition missing motor but with 4 speed gearbox for a little more than that. '65 build date, ~400 later VIN. Granted, I'm on the west coast where there are still a few around in decent condition, and complete. I didn't wait too long to sell, likely could have got a little more, but not much (unless I'd waited for one of the Euro dudes to check it out)
I'd say 6 is unreasonable.

I gave away one in slightly better condition than that one. I figured I could have gotten a couple grand for it if I wanted to deal with the tire kickers. This was 2011. It now resides in Walker's boneyard.

If you want to get $2,995 for it you are going to have to work for it.
Add another 10 or so photos showing things up close.
Make it look more attractive I guess I'm saying.
