Not so perfect 911's

I think that a lot of folks on this site have cars like mine, condition 2 cars with higher mileage and road rash and in need of things like a headliner but otherwise drive just fine. Like my car. My point is there is a lot of talk about the prices going sky high on the air cooled. This is true but I think for the most part these are near perfect examples. I still see in the ads all the time 3.2 cars that need stuff but drive for $15-20,000. So if a person wants a 3.2 that they can fix up, they are still out there. The Targas seem to be the best deals.

What people refer to as a 2, are usually really a 3 or a 4. It's becoming more difficult to own an air cooled Porsche if you can't do most of the maintenance yourself.

I'm gonna disagree with you a little bit here Nick. I think the cars you reference are high twenty/low thirty cars. The fact of the matter is that none of these cars 'need nothing', and that the near perfect are going for much more dollars.

The secret is out, and everyone either wants in or to cash in.

Hey

NYNIck, Here in Southern Cal we have more 911 cars than anywhere else on earth. I just notice they are out there. Tons of Targas. Rest of US is different. Check out San Diego/LA Craig's list. And before folks say Craig s list cars are junk, a lot of us got our cars from Craig's list. I did and it's been a great car for 4 years! Much fun.

Given my somewhat unpleasant exchange/education with Speeder, I am going to agree with you. Denis may have been a d*Ľk about making his point but he was right about perceptions regarding condition.
