Really nice
I bet this will hit a high price. Looks like a real keeper with the rare interior:

I think $65k is optimistic.

Maybe, maybe not. It will be interesting to see. IMHO if someone wants a keeper this is it.

Maybe it's just me, but the rarity of the interior doesn't mean crap to me... The low miles, one owner, and all records hold more value. I personally would never have an interior like that over an optioned full leather interior.

Not sure what's its worth but its a very nice car.
Personally i'd pay more for a cloth interior than leather on a 3.2 especially with sport seats. In fact I did ![]() ![]() Last edited by whiterabbit; 08-29-2014 at 10:41 AM.. |

Valuable = Rare + Desirable. Is green fabric desirable?

I hope when you say you paid more you don't mean you paid more than $65K.

To the right person.
Or someone who understands that it's unique and time + uniqueness = long term value

Here we go again…low mileage car DEMANDING high dollars.
Why? Oh, I guess so you can park it for another 30 years.

Thats a new equation. We'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

Personally, I couldn't care less about the long term value of my Porsche. I plan to drive it until I'm old, then hand it down to one of my sons.

I believe the same applies to the 'beautifully restored' every nut and bolt polished early models as well. Most of them are garage queens and they all demand high dollars over and above the costs of the restoration work. In this light, the high value for these factory original g50 time capsules does not look excessive.

I think he's dreaming but I've been surprised plenty at sale prices in the last year. The interior, just as when it was new, is not for everyone. In fact, it was probably for one customer in the USA in the year it was built. And I always considered white to be the weakest of the common colors but I know that there are those who disagree.

I am now ever apprehensive about low miles after fixing several broken odometers from these years.
One problem is that the speedo still works when the odo fails and many dont notice it for years unless they are religious about keep track of the little rotating (or not) numbers below. I recently fixed one for a guy who hadnt used his car for 6 years and had claimed it to be a 1988 43k miles original car, when i went for a drive I pointed out that his odometer was not moving or functional,...how long has it been broken? who knows?...he sure didnt know, he didnt even recall the last time he even thought about the mileage on his car. A receipt with the last mileage dates from 2002 with the same numbers. I asked if between 2002 and 2008 when he parked if he drove it in those years and affirmed he had... so moral of the story, even paperwork a times cannot posit a claim of actual mileage. |

Or ... there's no 100% guarantee of anything. To me, a paperwork trail together with the condition of the car and an honest private owner who has kept up with maintenance records suffice as far as mileage is concerned. Most, if not all, private owner enthusiasts are not about to tweak their odometers every now and then to gain more on a future sale. |
