Prices up!

Both Hagerty and NADA prices are up for classic Porsche cars. NADA for example now shows for an 85 911 coupe for example....Lo retail,$22,200, average retail, $26,500, and hi retail, $46,000. Hagerty shows higher.

Nada shows higher for the 85 Targa lo and average but lower for the hi retail. My credit union used the NADA guide when I bought my car.

Christian, I'm living on the planet where PML flip flopped his story more often than the coin used to decide kick off to a futbol match.
Whatever was being claimed around here he would take the other side.

Oh I guess Porsche is going to start it's production of 74-89 short-hood 911/930s this winter? Or is it 993s? It's a simple supply and demand equation for air-cooled p-cars. Prices aren't going anywhere, they might even out for a while but will never drop. A large and large segment of the car enthusiast public are understanding virtues these cars are.

You didn't get the inside joke, which is fine, because you're new around here.

For a little bit of enlightenment as to why it was a joke, look up any of the posts made by the poster "PushingMyLuck". Then you'll see why the comment was meant not to be taken seriously.

The price guides are 'trailing indicators.'

But I'm also seeing prices staying high, if not drifting higher in the short term.

thinking of selling my 930 and not sure how to value my car. the prices seem to be up according to Nada etc. I find myself playing with the older Porsche's and my 930 just sits around.

Cheers

Anywhere from nothing to $200k.

Without any information about the car, it's very hard to even guess.

I wonder how long it will be before the airheads cash in their cars? As prices go up they will not see a 911 but they will see cash.. I see it all the time with the people at work. They get a 401k and after they have a few grand in it they borrow from it and buy new iphones and sunglasses and stuff like that. Will be a lot of sold cars soon. And a lot of the former 911 owners will go over to the Honda Civic forums. Can't wait!

Nah. They will be on the Integra and WRX/STi boards.
