930 roller whats it worth?

I have the chance to purchase a 1975 930 roller no glass, interior, dash, basically only the body. It is in good shape no visible rust even though i already expect some. Neither one of us has a number in mind. Any ideas? Thanks

If you could piece it back together with all or mostly original early turbo parts, you may have a $75k to $85k car. That would take a TON of time and maybe 50k to $6ok. More than likely you would building with a mix of old and new 911/ 930 parts resulting in a bit of a Frankenstein-turbo worth considerably less, but costing less too.

$10k to $15k maybe?

Price is also dependent on whether or not it has a salvage title

I wouldn't pay more than $10K for it. I think it's probably worth more than the $85 stated above (a lot more), but putting it back together is going to take lots of time, and money. Time because you're going to want to locate the correct engine, and money because if/when you find it, you're going to have to pay up for it. By the way, the $10K is assuming its a clear title and not too badly rusted. On the plus side, you already have the turbo suspension and brakes, which will save you tone of cash. Good luck! Sounds like its going to be a lot of fun!

Yeah, if it's a '75 930, pretty much any amount of money you put in it you'll get back. An Ice Green 75? Holy crap. LOL.

only a handful of these cars were made I'd say worth a pretty penny salvaged or not,
matching or not, color change ect..

there are only approx 50 in the registry out of the 275 made

let us know more when you know more GL

A 75 930 rolling chassis with correct suspension and Fuchs? Probably $20K with no/minimal rust. Title status is irrelevant.

you sure it is not a 76? What would a well restored non matching numbers ice green metalic 1975 930 be worth 175K?

Maybe buy a rough 76-77 to use as a doner for the restoration. It will be tough and expensive to get one of everything.

Well after all the speculation im dissapointed to report that it ended up being a 912 converted to a widebody. It had the correct steel flares and the 911 engine mounts.

Ahh yeah, there's a little bit of difference between the two. Btw the Ferry 930 (porsche museum) is oak green metallic, not ice green.

Sorry for your pain but isn't that just classic!

If there isn't one already I think we could make an epic thread on "finally got to look at the car and it wasn't what was described!"

Boy howdy.

The single most common misinterpretation I've seen is of the early VIN plate embossing:

Despite the embossed '911' or '911T,' amateurs have looked at the upper right lettering and believed they have an "S."

(image is borrowed and the person with this particular car is not confused!)
