It was a scam. I talked to the guy. He was selling for his dad, 54k miles, dad owned for 18 years. Wouldn't let me come look at it in Truckee. He wanted me to send him a money gram for 750.00 to hold the car. I called him out on it and we went back and forth. He claimed he lived in Reno and his name is Michael Dalton 775-303-4862. The old saying, if it seems too good to be true it probably isn't, is always good advice. Hope no one fell for it. Tim

Wow, that's pretty brazen.
Usually the scams are from someone out of town etc not one with a local phone number. The refusal to let you see the car is a dead giveaway. But unfortunately, it's not always possible to see a car in person first before making a deal in many cases...the scammer is probably counting on that. Yes, never send money via moneygram ! |

Something that's great fun and can get funny responses is to just text these scammers endlessly. Whenever you think about it send them a quick text or a dozen in a row, drives them nuts!

A lot of these jerk offs claim to be "marine biologists out to sea" where they cant show you the car. I always email them back and say" if you are a marine biologist, then i am an astronomer and your face looks like Uranus." Seems to do the trick.
