need help on value_'76 w/ widebody + 3.0
Need some help valuing a '76 coupe with a 930 widebody. engine is a non - rebuilt 3.0 with roughly 50k miles. Approx. 100k on the chassis.
Would like need chain tensioner upgrade and other tid bits like fresh suspension bushings and possibly rebuilt shocks, but that's relatively easy labor stuff. Thanks!

Doesn't tell us a lot. Pictures really help (save them to your computer and upload because dealers and flippers will check the root document and try to snatch the car).
Quality is everything. Glass or steel flares? What rear suspension? Real 930 stuff and revised pick up points? Brakes? So many variables really. |

Got your pm. Can't reply to them on this stupid iPhone. Not enough pictures to make a call. Go see it in person and make a judgment call. Go with cash. You might not get a second chance.
Car is priced a bit high but if you can pick it apart some in person they'll likely move on their price especially since it is clearly a dealer. The big question mark is registration. It needs a BAR sticker to be truly legal. If they smogged it and didn't certify the engine swap ( which is a 100% CA legal engine swap) going through that process is your problem. Another point of price negotiation. If they feed you some bull that you don't need a BAR sticker, walk if they won't move on price. Gonna cost you at least a grand to make a car like that 100% CA BAR compliant. Not difficult on a car like this but how much do you make an hour? You will spend at least 10 hours of your time, not to mention possible parts purchases, getting it BAR certified. |

I have wondered this myself. Part of me thinks 20k for a fun toy is fine, the other part of me feels like I would be stuck with it if I wanted to sell.....
If its the black one on IE craigs, it is worth looking at, good thing its kinda far away from me because I would probably buy it on a whim. I doubt you would get hurt in the deal. |
