2.2S longblock value
Ok guys, lets see how good you are.
Just put up a 2.2S longblock on eBay. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1413400396.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/828904-fs-ft-1970-2-2s-running-engine.html Started at $5k with no reserve and no buy it now. Vegas has the over under at $10k. Cast your vote, over or under? Extra points for closest guess at winning bid. I am guessing over at $10.5k |
only because I have never followed these engines....random guess considering what I would assume if I were in a bind...$6730.01
|
Your not far Bk i would guess 9500.00-10k.

When did this forum become about advertisements? You want to know what I think it is worth? Sorry. Not going to comment on an eBay ad posted by the person asking about its value. Shakey head.
|
I advertised in the classifieds section. In the marketplace discussion Forum I started a discussion on a 2.2S long block value. Thought this was the proper forum. Sorry to inturupt the discussion on g50 v 915 v 901. My bad.
Edit: Also, if I were trying to market, why would I market to the same people that read the classifieds? I would be on early S, rennlist, 914 world, etc... Roll eyes |
Dang...I was having fun playing price is right with this one.

The beauty of forums is you can ignore me pissing in your Cheerios and anyone who wants to play can still play. Don't let me ruin your fun...

The obvious answer is that it's worth a bloody fortune to the person holding the chassis it belongs to and a lesser fortune to someone restoring a 2.2 911S mit engine MIA. A still smaller fortune to someone building a vintage racer, (does anyone do that anymore with today's early car values?), or someone building a 914-6 clone.
It would be a much more fun engine in a 914 than a torque motor like a 3.2, IMHO. Plus it would be the correct vintage. |
Ends in a couple hours. Currently at 7600 so Kevin is the closest so far. I hope he doesn't win!
Thanks for the input speeder. The engine was in a 914 but it didn't match my driving style. I would rather cruise around @ 3k rpm than >4k rpm. Current plan is to replace with 2.2 or 2.4E. |
sold for $8300, not bad now one needs to find the correct injection for a proper tribute.
|
Yea a little less than I thought and a lot less than I hoped!
But that's the way it goes. Mommy's happy. She already went shopping and I haven't been paid yet! |
