How high will Olive go?

Everybody see the Olive Carrera in the 4 sale section and Ebay? I thought $100k would have hit the reserve???

Good luck to the seller, damn I sold my cars too early!

That's an exceptional example and I can't say I have ever seen another in that particular shade. It got to $100K very quickly, too, so I won't be surprised if it has another $50K left in it, maybe more.

Wow

It's a beautiful car. I wonder if that would be a record for a US Carrera?

Spot on. I think that this is already true in the increasingly hot SC/3.2 Carrera market as well.

Current record (to my knowledge as well as the database at Sports Car Market) is $89,640 at Branson last April. Huge number for that car but very pretty.

What you have now is somebody will bid say $200 just to see reserve then retract bid screwing up auction. Should have lifted reserve at $100k as that is crazy number and let it ride.

Great looking car and I love odd color cars but there is no way I am paying 3x's the amount just because of color. You only see the fenders when driving. The Peru red one just sold at approx$50k and was nice car with better engine although non orig.

The Peru red car was very nice, but it wasn't a Carrera, it was a tribute. Still a great car and impossible to duplicate for the price, but the olive car is the real deal. Apparently, folks are willing to pay for authenticity, especially in unusual colors.

Hi, just to clarify, the PCA website made me put in a price, so I just put $1m in so I could provide a link to the eBay auction. $1M maybe, if I had a 73RS

125,000.00 and the RESERVE IS OFF!!!!! She's gonna sell. It's already a world record but I think it's got a lot more to go. In the Porsche world there aren't too many 1 of 1 cars, which this appears to be. And it's not like it's the only Carrera that was ordered without tinted glass or something. It's the only one that was painted that color! That is HUGE in any car market, let alone Porsche.

I can see it going to 150k. I would like it myself if I had the cash free.

The person who buys this car has to open his garage and look at it everyday!

Good for you, man. Car is sweet. A bargain even at that price by the looks of it. Finally the '74 gets some respect, although I realize this is a special '74.

There was a higher sale comp than that last year at European Collectibles. It was a Peru red 74 Carrera coupe with lobster interior that I believe sold for around $115k.

Since you mentioned it- the guy at $125,800 has retracted 7 bids in the last 6 months
