Holy Moly 96-97 Turbo prices!

Have you seen the quarter of a million dollar price tags on the low mileage 96-97 Turbos?
I mean, we're talking brand spanking new Ferrari, McLaren and Lambo prices, not to mention 2015 911 Turbo S with change back.

Geez Louise, that would make me think....

Askin aint gettin

But, everyone who is retailing in this business is watching everyone else and the big numbers set the market.

40th anniversary of the Turbo next year, and the 930s you could buy in the $20s 5-6 years ago have doubled or more.

so true... Everyone is looking at Asking prices then going one notch higher! "because mine is cleaner then that" It makes for inflated prices and cars that sit looking for 20%-25% over market values.

We have to remember these are asking prices.

By the way I have a 71S you can have for $350k it's really nice!

Would you use a mileage cutoff considering a turbo, or is it like other cars where condition should trump mileage?

I ask because my mechanic made a good point that a lot of the people who could afford a turbo back then were wealthy professionals like doctors and lawyers who quickly found that they were not up the task of driving them well.

Therefore, most were low mileage cars and the ones that are not are on the well used, not so well maintained side.

Thoughts?

btw, I so need me an older turbo!

Seems to me every air cooled is getting some multiple of their original MSRP these days.
