Thanks to all for your assistance and info on purchasing this car.

I've removed all info related to this car as I do not own it and have deleted all my posts regarding this vehicle.

Thanks,

As is it is worth about 6-8k
If you pull the engine you could sell it as a rebuildable core for 4-5K and the transmission for 1k and the tub for 4-5k

Is he willing to throw in that sweet engine lid prop tool with the deal? Man, sometimes amazes me what some of these cars go through with their past owners. The color is nice, so WAS that Euro interior at one time. Amazing to see how bad something can get when neglected and left to the elements. It blows. I'd pay $6K though.

...Although you are probably right about the flood thing. It has surface rust in all the 'unusual' places. I don't know, maybe I would walk. Could have been sitting in water for a bit longer than imagined. Don't know if it's worth it to make it a runner.

It's a euro car and looks like pre flood it was a nice one. Green or Petrol over Pascha were it not in this condition IMO would make it potentially very desirable and well priced car. As it sits it's a parts car. If the seller thinks its worth more than $5k he is totally deluded.
To me it looks like It has been in standing water or consistently rained on. Look at how it's rusted. I think the motor is junked.
If you buy it I'd give you a fair price on the gauges, steering wheel & auto heat roof sensor parts. But best of luck with what you decide.

It's parts.

Looking at the pictures, I can almost smell the musty interior...

Do you have mechanical skills, a lot of patience, access to low cost shipping materials, discounted shipping service, a place to put the carcass...?

I estimate that at $6K, you could double your money and only invest 2-1/2 years of picking, packing and shipping. I think ultimately, you'd be helping Paypal more than yourself.

Words of wisdom right here. I parted a few German motorcycles in my day, and it was a tremendous amount of time. Not to mention dirty finger nails, and milk crates upon milk crates of stuff nobody wanted, wouldn't buy, or was damaged beyond repair. Lots of work.

Air cleaner sticker...

The Max Moritz sticker on the air filter cover is interesting - check the case for a 3.1 stamp, and maybe a star? (going from memory here) you might get a little added value if it has that added displacement lump and is a factory short stroke.

Seen that car for sale a couple of years ago. I clearly recall the boot and engine lid struts!

And the one you posted is about $30k away from a nice exterior, interior, and running motor!

3.1 and star stamp would indicate factory installed 97mm pistons. Max Moritz and RUF SCR used 98mm Mahles and were a 3.2.

If that is a Max Moritz modded motor, that would definetely add to the value (of the motor at least) if it isn't blown up or seized.
