Euro Vs. US 928 S4 Value
Looking at an 89' Euro, 928 S4 in very good condition with about 88K kilometers (55k Mi) on it, AT, nothing special in options, few service records, assume PPI checks out.
My question is not what THE price should be, it's what percent lower it's worth than a US car. ROW specs are pretty much the same, the speedo/digital odo is in km and can't just be changed out as it's tied to the ecu (and you can't toggle back and forth like US version). So what percentage less than US car is a euro car worth where the only real difference seems you drive with gauges always showing in metric? Thanks, Mark

At that age? Nothing. Same value.

Metric 928
Thanks Matt, maybe it won't make a difference. I had figured all else being equal that most drivers would rather look down and see they're going 35 or 75 rather than compute it or I guess get used to it and know the difference without thinking about it. Mark

The US had the manual tranny "option" for a couple of years. I also like the rubber bumpers in the rear. Practical!

being a euro car should not effect the value negatively, these are old enthusiast owned cars, usually its the cars options and service history that really boost these cars in value.

thanks to all for input, glad I asked, I would have thought it would make more of a difference. Mark

A few small items are Euro only options, but the key factor which a couple of the guys pointed out is: Get it completely {full PIP} checked out before you purchase any 928>S, GT or GTS. The GTS's {'95??} with a 5 speed box bring the top money. Electrical issues, water damage, or major accident repairs at the deal killers.
Hope you have a nice car within your budget! art agrimmitt@pelican |
