Unique cool Porsche too bad missed it!!
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/853043-very-unique-minerva-blue-1980-carrera-gt-924-turbo.html
What a cool car for the money. I am assuming it is all just added on but it really looks like a special edition. Love all except the wheels but easily changed. Too bad it isn't easily flipped. Sorry, I had to LOL! |

That was very well bought at that price. I could not get the full story because I am not a PCA member and it required a login. Anyone have any more info on this car? Pretty awesome, not something you see everyday.

I bet if you didn't have those phone dials on there and had Fuchs on it it would not be funny looking - I think it would be pretty bad a**. I give the guy thumbs way up for sure for putting all the sweat equity into a 924. No way he got all his money back. That thing is a labor of love.

I thought this was a steal myself- cool original color, factory OEM Carrera GT body panels(polyurethane not fiberglass) and only 24k miles. This car was built by Bob Nikel and crew at Sewickley Porsche for the original owner, before he took delivery. I agree on the phone dials. She will be riding on 7 & 8 x15 fuchs soon ;-)

Thanks for posting the article - now I know the story. No matter what, it is a special car. I would expect it to get twice the price at least. The sale price was way below what a special like this is worth. There are many, many more people in this market to justify a higher price tag. Car is sweet. So you got it? Like I said, it was a screaming deal, and a special car, awesome interior, and a tribute to a car that doesn't get as nearly as much love as it should.

Screaming deal. Glad it came to a NorCal Pelican.

Well, I didn't exactly buy it...all of my cash is tied up in another project. But this thing had my name all over it so I did what any self respecting car guy would do, I advised my dad to buy it! Of course I offered to garage it for him ;-)
He has a pretty rough 944 S2 that he was thinking about re painting etc. I told him he would be better off buying this car and just leave the S2 as is. These days 12k barely gets you a nice paint job. Win win. Last edited by LS1951; 02-25-2015 at 11:51 AM.. |

I remember reading the recent article and really liking this car. Makes a high dollar air-cooled 911 seem so common. If it were mine, I'd throw on some Fuchs 7&8s and lose the Carrera GT badging. But it's not mine so good luck the new owner and enjoy it.
