996TT not selling.
What's the opinion. Is it the higher mileage or the branded title. You don't see many at this price regardless.
2001 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo $29000 odometer: 127000 "First off the car does have a title history. It was very minor, the front bumper was torn off. I do have pictures before the car was repaired by a German shop. And my title says BRANDED-WA. There is no issues with the car. It runs and drive great. Transmission is good and shifts smooth. The motor is strong. It has a fabspeed exhaust. Fabspeed catalytic converters. X50 exhaust tips. Fabspeed turbo manifolds. Fabspeed air box. Evoms ecu tune upgrade 1.1 bar. It's a $8000 dollar kit not included installment. Bilstien shocks. This car has all the extra options from the factory. It's a six speed manual transmission. Gt2 rear trunk lip. Gt2 front bumper and precision porsche front lip. I'm asking $29000 with original porsche 996 premium chrome 18inch wheels with like new tires. And if you'd like 19inch fodgeline 3 piece wheels with new tire I'd sell it for $31000" ![]() |

These cars are awesome. Thing is, even though the sticker was probably $130K plus on this there are better ones out there for $10K more. When you think that these cars ranged from $116 to $181K depending on year and options I would probably say it would be best to wait and find one with no stories for $10K more. These are serious automobiles, they are keepers, and heck when you are getting a SuperCar for a rock-bottom price why not find a cherry one for not much more?
And on top of this, I would like to see a seller sometime say 'Yes, it's salvage/branded, and it deserves it because it was a freaking mess before it got fixed.' These cars with stories always seem to be a simple fix, a bumper, a ding, a theft, etc. I am not saying that this is the case with this one, but I would like to see some more transparency on these types of titles. |

Tan interior. Any light colored interior is a deal breaker. aftermarket rims. Super bad. What else?

high mileage + Title issue + tune ++aftermarket rims..... The OEM rims go for ~4k and I dont think im the only one that knows this, is annoyed by it, and takes 4k off the asking price.

There was one local to me for the same price with 107K miles and clean title. But Tip.
I think the miles are a concern. They wouldn't be for me, except that I know I'll probably want something else in 2 years and then would have to deal with people for whom miles matter - disproportionately. I have a friend looking for a track toy and this would fill the bill, but I'd like to see it closer in price to the last salvage title 996TT I considered: $23.5K. BTW, the car I ended up buying had a real OE GT2 tail. I sold off the tail for $4000.

Normally I wouldent comment about sombodies asking price, but you asked and we are in the right forum.
Why on earth would I pay 30k for a 996TT with stories and a ton of miles? 996TT seems like an ideal place to apply "buy the best one you can afford". They have depreciated to pretty low prices, and they are still 140k cars as far as ownership costs are concerned. It seems much wiser to buy a nicer example for 40k. 10k difference is alot but can be eaten up in extra maintenance is a heartbeat. For buying heavily depreciated expensive cars, buying the nicest example you can find seems prudent. Im not sure how low you need to go to make it attractive for somebody who wants a driver, however. THe market seems to indicated below 29k.

Smart idea. I wonder how fast you could flip those, what the demand is, and how much you'd end up getting? I don't see much more than $5k for that stuff on the used market but maybe I don't know the market.

I doubt it, they really don't move too fast. Buyers market for sure.

when you factor in the miles, mods, and the salvage title the price seems a bit high. no doubt you can find one with similar miles and a clean title for the same price.

Not sure what's up with that car. It's now been relisted at a much higher price with new pics. I think I may smell something fishy!
I really like the new description. "Minor Repair you can drive it home with no problems". Might take me quite awhile to drive "home" on that left rear wheel and tire. ![]() |
