26K original miles???
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/832062-1981-guards-red-911sc-super-low-miles.html
Seems like a heck of a lot of road grime on the bottom of a car with only 26k miles. Look at the shocks. Hmmm. Am I wrong? |

Idk..even if a new car sits for long enough the elements and seepage are going to that their toll.

my car has 30k miles and looks about the same underneath
34 years is a long time, and 30k is still 3 years of daily use for a regular car

That's our car!
We stand by the mileage claim. There are plenty of ways to tell if a car is "honest", and we feel the road grime on the bottom of this one only reinforces the mileage. Aside from records, there are plenty of indicators on a low-mileage car like this. Things like "sandblasting" and tiny chips in factory paint, original windshield, carpet and floor mats, pedal cluster wear, etc, etc.. In this car, all these indicators reflect the mileage. You can see from our inventory and previous sales that we specialize in low-mileage cars. We know what to look for. Always appreciate feedback and open discussion, though.. More eyes on the car is never a bad thing. |

No, unfortunately no records and no 85mph speedo.
All US-bound 911s around '79-'82 should have them but rarely do. As the saying goes, condition is king. |

It's nice to see a straight up no run around response from the seller. Good luck with the sale.

Christian, I generally respect your posts, but this one seems a bit 'out there'. Are you having a tough winter in the Northlands? I'm going to guess that the speedo replacement was done while the car was, at least, relatively new.

Richard, Same to you buddy.
More 226 than 26 - hope you concur? Seats, kickpanel carpet by pedals etc etc. All the best from the east - spring is here! PS. Looked at the pics more closely. Nice car. But I question the 26k. Last edited by christiandk; 03-14-2015 at 12:00 PM.. |
