1966 3guage 912 roller in pieces.
I have a 66 912 that is a bit more of a project then I'm willing to take on right now. The body looks good and it would make a good "outlaw" or "ratrod", but it does have a fair amount of bondo and to many hands have been in it to be a show car (unless you have nothing better to do with your money). The motor is in pieces/boxes and no seats.
Any thoughts on what I should ask? |

912
maybe pictures of what it and the misc. parts look like.
Most folks want to see what they're potentially getting themselves into. |

Without photos it is an impossible shot in the dark, and even then with photos it would be a guesstimate. Post some stuff up and see where the conversation goes.

Chassis condition is #1. If it needs a floor or front pan or rockers... big impact on value. If it has been flared, big impact on value. It's all about the cost of work to get it back to original configuration.

Holy Moly Atlas...and Christian. A game changer. I became a dad five years ago and two years in and another baby I bought the project 911. Not the smartest thing as all your time is gone, gone. That's the way she goes. WOW two at once. To me it was the most terrifying and most beautiful day of my life.
PS. The 912 photos can wait. Don't take on too many projects in the next few weeks as things that were easily done in your past life of a few days ago become arduous tasks. Don't tell the wife you're going out to take photos of the 912 to post up on here. Trust me, bad move. |

Atlas...congratulations. Life is going to become VERY different. I actually may be in interested in your 912 roller. I'll lay low until you get the feedback you asked for on this thread. But please PM me when you think you are ready to sell.
Again, congratulations and good luck.

Congrats on the kids. Mine is now 3. She's a big part of why my 912 project hadn't moved forward much. Total game changer.
That chassis looks ready for assembly. I'll put out a number of $8-10k. The higher number would be more achieve able if the engine wasn't in pieces. |

I feel in today's market the tub alone would sell for $8-10K. It looks to be fairly straight and rust free.
If you have most all the critical parts for reassembly, turn signal, hood emblem, engine grill, etc. and the engine is disassembled but with a good case and heads, I would think this project would sell for $15k. Driver 912's are 25K plus cars and correct originals are in the 40K and over crowd. Oh and families are fun! |

Maybe if he's got all the deco, rear grill, horn grills, mirrors, seals and trim in a box as well. That body is a long way from back together.

Here are some more photos of what comes with the car. It came with no headlights, turn signals or or dash. A 902/01 transmission. What you see is what would come with the car. Clear Utah title.

Looks like there is a bit missing, seats, engine grill, trim, turn signal, to name a few parts. And it was in a front in right corner shunt that was bondo over wrinkled sheet metal fix. And engine apart.
Well looks like we are back to the 8-10k for all of it. |
