It is now beyond stupid, $250k turbo

'77 wrecked, non matching engine and transmission, seller claims it is worth $250k restored. I will be shocked if this goes to $30k. What are people thinking?

Late to the party? IIRC, one sold in January for $253K before buyer premium.

Prepared to be shocked, it's over $25000 with 5 days to go.

Regardless of how nice the restore, this car is wrecked with non matching engine and trans. I hope nobody would pay that for this car. But the way things are going I guess one should never say never.

Damaged at a DE event. I bet that was an interesting accident!

What do you think the cost of restoration would be on something like this? $75K? $100K?

Generally, that's true, but beyond a certain value point, a better-than-factory restoration can pay off.

Greatest value is in untouched original cars, even with "patina."

Hitting a wall at a HSDE is not "adding patina."

I believe this thing sold a couple months ago on ebay for 60k plus.. same seller. Buyer must of backed out when noticing non matching numbers. Will be interesting to see if it sells again and then see it relisted...again haha

The market for a 69-73 911 S and 77 turbo Carrera are least in the same ballpark. I'd expect this car to sell for a what a basket case S coupe would sell for- $45-60k is not out the question.
