Considering selling, on the fence
Ready for another Porsche, so one has to go. I've owned my Weissach SC for 10 years and used it as a daily driver for most of the time. I've also taken it to many Porsche club driving education non-racing events. It's an unbelievable drive on road and track. The struggle is that aside from a failed Lambda controller related relay which I hard wired on the road and got to where I needed to go, it's not let me down ever. I also know what I have and it works - just looking for a subtle change to another Porsche perhaps late fall. This portion of the forum seems to be stacked with a good feel for the market.
*** Edited to remove the photos - will re-add when ready to sell *** About the car, it's an original paint and interior, numbers matching car, with clean title and original window sticker, manuals, toolkit, spare tire. Not counting the pass through seller that I bought it from, I believe I am owner two in terms of how many miles it's seen per owner. When I bought it, I knew it had broken studs and prepared for rebuild. The parts, including the tail, are the original to the car. Depending on how you want to read into it, I've improved these areas: engine exhaust/heat has been backdated with SSI stainless steel heat exchangers and a dual in, single out Dansk stainless muffler. The shift assembly is a Wevo classic, using the original boot to maintain an OEM look. Suspension is Elephant Racing (A.S.P. spring plates and polybronze bushings front and rear. 22mm and 28mm Sander's hollow torsion bars. Anti-Sways are from 87-89 Carrera 22 Fr, and 21 RR? Can't recall exactly the specs. The car is a mechanically sound daily driver, and therefore looks great in the photo from 15 feet or more away. The chassis has approximately 135K on it. I say approximately because when the 85 MPH stopped working, I replaced it with a 150 MPH speedo that had a higher odometer reading to start which has also stopped working. The car hadn't been driven much last year and will probably not be driven much this year, so I am thinking that if I keep it, it'd see another 3-5K at most. Hence considering time to sell. With the exception of the front valence which shows a primer different than the factory one that shows through on the remaining panels, the body is original paint (no re-spray) and interior, has paint chips on the front end, some rust on the passenger fender (have a solid replacement that would go with the car) and a small area behind one the driver side light on inner fender above battery but not caused by battery. If I keep the car, it's a panel that would be cut out and replaced while the fender is off for full repaint. The leather dash is typical, in need of re-covering. The chassis and car is in unrestored condition, complete in terms of parts. This car's engine was rebuilt 40K miles ago and hasn't let me down since. Thanks to this board, the people behind the articles, Wayne's Engine Rebuild Book, and the help of a few knowledgeable Porsche mechanics near me, I've done most all work myself. *** All take-off parts, including air conditioning hardware, original radio, 85 MPH speedo, steering wheel, headlights and trim, will go with the sale, if/when I sell. The color and sport seats are cool. I don't think it being a Weissach buys you much (if anything) in value above that. The engine rebuild is a good thing -- was it rebuilt tp stock specs?
I think mid-20s is a "sell it now" price for the car given the condition of the front end. Maybe less depending on the rust. The heat backdate and suspension mods will be appreciated by some, but the stiffness (and squeeking?) may turn others off. If you throw this out there at $25k, I could see a dealer coming in a little less, then replacing the fender, respraying the front end in the process, and putting $37,500 on it. Maybe I am being pessimistic, but I think the average buyer is going to ride you hard about rust on a galvanized car. Those who do this for a living here tend to argue against painting, as it is generally a break-even prospect (at best) if you do it right. And more often is a net loss. But the need for rust repair may change that calculus. You could start at $29,500 and see where that takes you.

Here is a car that is somewhat comparable:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/859479-1981-911sc-coupe-one-owner-all-records.html It seems comparable condition wise -- some bubbling and paint flaws. 101k miles, claimed one-owner will full records. No suspension mods. Asking $25,995. Has been listed since 4-06-15.

I'm going to disagree. I think in the current market being a Weissach is a value adder. I'd list the car at $30k. You can always come down.
