bucket of dust...
Looked at a 74 targa today that was utterly destroyed. Dude had chopped off the roof to make it into a cabrio; no floor pans, no pan in the trunk, eight inches of the leading edge of the hood cut off (probably for easier access to the rust inside the trunk!); wide open to the weather, tires on the front seats, ....and yet
Turned the key and it started right up. No idea how this could be. the fuel tank was just sitting on the ground! Motor is Upgraded with tensioners, and a few other bits. I don't think there is a thing beyond the wheels and motor that could be salvaged off this thing. What is it worth? Thanks ![]() |

The engine alone is $5k. A sporto with all the sporto specific stuff? That's $3k. There's $10k in part out there in one Saturday's worth of teardown.
