912E - still undervalued (imo)
Not trying to toot my own horn (easy one for Ronnie), but The E is amazing once it is tuned. So nimble and it has super accelleration at lower speeds. I bet it is faster around town than Ron's rear booster - but who cares anyway.
Having had plenty 911's I have to admit that the 912E is the most fun around town. And I am not saying that because I cant afford a 911. Wanted to sell the E - not any more after I drive it. My advice - get a good one NOW - God aint making any more ![]() Christian ![]() Last edited by christiandk; 06-06-2015 at 10:41 AM.. |

The 912E is Tanner Foust's favorite car. That must say something about the lowly 912E.

Christian, did you figure out what was causing your Hello Kitty mo-bile to list to one side (I'm sure you did, but don't remember reading about it for sure)? Did the new strut inserts fix the problem?

Well that looks like a fun project, JR.
The new struts have firmed up the ride, but I still have a slight problem with dragging especially under braking. My eyeball alignment was not up to scruff after all. |

I'd agree with you Christian, but all that would do is drive the prices up. Who needs higher prices in this market?

Got an offer for 34k Euros on my car - sold my 928 instead.
Bee and I are both from 76 - we stick together! Ronnie, this is a gift to you my man. And Matt you cant keep tje trap shut so just comment as well. Last night driving home from a playground, Per (son) riding shotgun, Cille (pregnant wife about to pop) in the rear she asked me this as we were going up in speed entering the highway. "I think the needle is broken, it doesnt move when you push the speeder" The Speedo works fine.....hmmmmmmmmm. |

Excellent story, Christian, and it is a fine gift, indeed! ![]() BUTT, see post #4 if you wish to remedy the slow moving speedometer needle situation! ![]() |

I think the 912E only has 95 horse power. About the same as a 1977 MGB.

Love the 912 Es.
I also love my 67 912. All 90hp (or whatever's left..lol) I never even considered a 912, but stumbled across one while looking for LWB parts and it has been an enjoyable car so far. I've had everything from 928's ( S,S4,GT,GTS) and every flavor of 911 /930 and the 912 ranks up there for pure fun. My old 912 has that classic VW bug feel, but in a Porsche. Does anyone have any idea how an early 912 stacks up against an early 911 T? 90hp vs 110hp....... MattR Edit: the 1969 911T 0-60 is 10 seconds/ 1969 912 is 11 secondish......blazing.... Supposedly Porsche is bringing the 912 back (sort of) as a "going green" statement. They've already got an SUV for the "I want an off-roader, butt I'll never drive off-road" crowd, so why not something for the tree humpers, too?!?!
In fact, here it is being tested by none other than our very own Christian and Matt!!! It does look to be faster than the original version, I must say! ![]() ![]() |
