What is this car worth thread 1999 996 cab

I am thinking about buying a 1999 996 Cab I found listed, the asking is $21,500. which I think is a little aggressive.

Here are the details:

- Gold (Melange) with Nephrite Green interior *definitely a color combo that would be a tough color interior and exterior to move when it comes time to sell
- manual
- 34,000 miles
- hard top
- soft top had a fight with a cat and needs replacement
- zero service records
- no IMS history known
- no leaks

Any input on price would be both welcomed and appreciated.

Andrew

Saw similar car W/ 11K last week, owner wanted $25500. I thought it was overpriced also. I was surprised that Excellence had a #1 value for $28,000. Who knows…...

I think the pricing is good, if it were a silver on black car. Nephrite is a color that takes a lot of getting used to. Just remember, you'll have a hard time selling it when you decide to do so.

I think the pricing is aggressive.

I would knock $2500 off for the wrecked soft top -- and hit him at $19k.

How long has it been for sale?

BTW -- here is a nephrite green interior for the uninitiated:

Wow... that's a tough interior color. Whomever ordered that car must have been green-gray colorblind.

Someday in the distant future there will be a discussion on here about what a valuable and desirable color that is due to its rarity.
I remember neighbors with brown and tangerine 911s painting them red or black when styles changed. Now even I like the olive green and other colors I couldnt stand as a kid when they were new.
That said, I did have to look closely at the pics to see if they had been photo shopped, I had never seen anything quite that......um.....flamboyant(?) in a 911.

SOLD SOLD SOLD!!! (Hammer down!)

PS. My wife says "I can see it for a girl, but not a guy." They must be distantly related.

I think long term that car will have additional value due to this interior.

Dr Bill Jackson special ordered a Carrera in Jade with Nephrite interior. Car actually was pretty awesome looking. I think it was sold through Road Scholars when he liquidated. I dug around a bit for a picture but couldnt' find anything. Car had fewer than 100 miles on it.

This ad popped up about 2 weeks ago and I never bothered looking at the pictures because his "I don't have an asking price" BS was enough for me to move on to the next ad. Don't know why I revisited it today (deal fell through on the '99 I was going to buy) and looked at the interior. Yellow with Nephrite? Someone has got really weird taste!

That has got to be one of the worst color combos ever. I'm all for odd colors and that green interior cold look pretty cool in a white, black or even a tan/brown car. But bright yellow. Ugh.

"No issues with the IMS bearings."

Really?

On what does one base that claim? Because the engine still runs?

If the IMS has been replaced, say so. If it hasn't -- don't even mention it. But don't claim it is "good" since you have no freaking idea until it fails.

And that color combination is truly horrific.

Looks like succotash -- corn over lima bean.
