Wanted! G50/31 6 speed for 1995 993
Hey folks..
I'm looking for a good G50/31 6 speed for a 1995 993.. Any help finding one or if you have a good one for sale please PM me! Thanks! Adrian.

Hey Matt. No. Not looking for brand new.. I'm finding good used (opened and inspected) in the UK for $8K - $10K. $20K for brand new with custom specs..

That might be your best bet considering you can sell your old one and recoup half that. A regear alone is $9 or $10k IIRC.

Are you looking for one because of the type number or specifically want that gearing? What is in the car right now?

Going to swap out the TipT.. My impression is that the /31 is the "street version" gearing as opposed to the /32 being more track oriented..
Full disclosure, I'm sourcing for a pal who has been sent to work in Dubai for a couple of years and is having big trouble sourcing good used parts their. Ideally, I will source and secure and he will arrange shipping from either my location or the seller's location to Dubai. Long story short....

Overseas may be your best bet. Singer is using 6spd g50 gearboxes on almost all of their builds. They are scouring the US market and will generally pay more than private buyers. Add in the rareness of the g50-3x series gearboxes and it's gonna be rough. Finding a certified good box for $10k is a steal, IMO.

Okay good to know.. Is there a stock G50 6 speed that I'm not aware of or would a Stock G50 5 speed work by any chance? I'm not an expert by any means, just going by what I've been reading.. Thanks for all of your feed back Matt. I really appreciate it..

G50/20 is standard us spec. G50/21 is row. The g50/3x boxes were for RS and always rare.
A 5spd could work. Problem will be finding a good workshop in Dubai to do the conversion no matter what gearbox is used. |

In March 2014 the previous owner of my 97 993 C4S bought a G64/20 from a seller in Nova Scotia, Canada. I posted a WTB ad on Rennlist and I put the transmission seller in touch with the car owner. (The car had a bad 1st -> 2nd gear grind for 25,000 kms and it finally let go and broke a hole in the side of the transmission case!)
It had 26,088 verified miles from a wrecked C4S and cost $6570 CDN shipped to Victoria BC Canada ($5350 USD at today's rate) My transmission core (with a hole in the case and 162,000 kms went to Ninemeister in the UK for parts/rebuild. Sold it for $1500 USD plus shipping etc. All have mixed reputations but I found available transmissions at: LA Dismantler and Nineapart. Would be worth asking Ninemeister as well.
