Fix it? Part it? Sell it As-Is ? Barnfind 78 Targa "Cabrio" with 50k miles

We just found a 1978 Targa that was made into a Cabrio ,
its a manual factory folding top with bad canvas

I am not a fan of Cabrios , I would rather have a coupe

the car has been sitting in inland California all its life with a Palm springs plate frame

solid car , factory rear flares . factory Fuchs alloys still anodized , stock engine lid not a whale tail , stock bumpers , stock front fenders, stock steering wheel etc

3 liter California spec motor with pump and AirCon pump.....turns over with a wrench

less than 50k miles

But it has not run for probably 10 years , it is sitting in a body shop right now and got lien saled for storage !

So I guess the parts to sell would be the motor , gearbox and Fuchs and a few body parts and folding top , but then I am stuck with a shell that would be hard to sell,

If I get it running it is still going to need tires as the P7s are rotted , top canvas etc

Or I could just sell it and use the $$$ to add to the "Coupe" fund

Is there a market for a 78 "Cabrio" As-is

or would someone put it back as a Targa ? or does someone make a neat hardtop ?

thanks for your thoughts......

For the right price, I would buy that roller, less engine and gearbox. I would take it back to targa.

Finally pushed it outside and blew some of the dust off it

Still not sure what the plan is , a few people have been interested in the motor/trans but I have no place to pull them and then I am stuck with the rest .....so that is probably not going to happen....

it might be time for Craigslist after the weekend unless you guys have other ideas....

They look deep.

Matt offered to buy the roller. Put the responsibility for engine/trans removal on the drivetrain buyer.

My '74 deal actually fell through but I'm not flying 1500 miles to pull the driveline on a car that would have to be shipped to me. If you decide to sell the whole car, shoot me your price via pm. I would at least consider it.
