Ha, hilarious thar, Rich! Speaking of Robby, he threw a fit a few months ago and said he was done posting on Pelican due to the ribbing he was getting - guess he was serious because I haven't seen anything from him in a long time . . .

But he's got the air cooled bug. He's going to end up buying 3 or 4 of them and after he drives them all, he will keep one or two and sell the others to buddies. And then he will drive it. He does drive his cars.

Christian, would you like me to spank you like a baby?!?! I bet you'd holler "Daddy" if I did!!!

Rich, I liked ol' Robby, too - very unique individual and funny in his own way, but I guess he was not one to enjoy the shat slinging.

Is it posted in the Pelican for sale section?
Rennlist for sale section?

Those will get you some more national exposure. Placing it on a California craigslist is going to get you only locals and the few folks who use searchtempest nationally.
Independence Day weekend certainly isn't helping.

If you are flexible on the price, put OBO in your ad to show that you aren't one of those guys who thinks their stuff is worth more just because they own it.

Mooty is out. He wants white not GR.

Let the weekend play out. A lot more people surf on weekends. And definitely make sure you have Obo in ad. Bobby is right. I skip over many ads that say "firm".

Ad text is straightforward, I like that. Maybe a bit too much detail about things like lithium grease but better too much detail than too little.

But you need PICTURES!!! That's a great-looking car, it deserves some nice pictures. Take it out to a park or something and take some nice sharp pictures of the exterior and some well-lit interior shots. Make a guy (or gal) want to buy it!

And list it nationally here and on Rennlist at least.

Cheers and GLWS

2- should I put it in Autotrader or hemmings?

Frankly, your exterior pics suck. One fuzzy, small, low res full car shot outside? Get several GOOD outside shots from multiple angles. Make sure they're in focus. And what's with the upside down photos?

Get yourself a free flickr ( https://www.flickr.com/ ) account and post up some hi-res pictures. And add the flickr link to your pictures to any advertisement you put up.

If someone is interested in buying long distance, these are necessary. Your ad text is very thorough and clear, you need to do the same with the images.

The upside down picture is going to make people think the car is in Australia. :-)

For God's sake Rich, fix the Pix on Pelican. It's terrible to see so many upside down.

Yep, they are upside down and sideways. It's a phone picture thing.

That upside down picture thing seems to happen when trying to load pictures directly from an iPhone or iPad. One solution is to first transfer the pics to a desktop or laptop computer - most of the time, the picture software correctly orients the pictures. Some guys in the 930 forum have tried having the phones upside down (lens on bottom) when taking pictures that they want to post - some have said that worked and for others it hasn't.

Your price is apparently too high for the cash for porsche bro's who seemed to have picked up every value priced 911 around here lately ! For a quick sale, you will need to lower the price so the flippers can then feed their families.
Otherwise, as suggested by the others, add detailed pictures of the car from all sides, seats , maintenance receipts, car fax, video, details of the ownership history etc Any leaks ? Does the AC still work ? How about the compression, leakdown ?

Let someone else pay for that. The first PPI will give that information, if it even comes to that.

I've paid for 3 ppis in the last month. With both private parties I shared the results. The Dbag dealer didn't need to know what I know.

Selling sucks but if you want close to top dollar you need to prove to buyers that it's worth the money.

Put yourself in the buyer's shoes.
Everybody likes maintenance records, ownership history, tons of pictures, maybe even a startup video to listen to engine and look at gauges.

Fix up the ads, and let them set for the weekend and see what happens. Did you contact the guy who responded from NY with the 917 number? Googling the phone number gives a couple of older automotive related links.

Hey, no expert here, just asking the same questions a buyer will.

I'll gladly help you take a video, though !
