Sugarwood, the paint process is by far the most important process of the build. It's one that can't be rushed. To much a stake for a mistake. I started by going with a 55 line base-coat clear coat system versus single stage. Both system are great. The single stage tends to be more robust as it has much more pigments. I decide for Glasurit line as it's proven to be by far a champion. I can't stress enough the importance of cleanliness during the process. I start by changing the booth filters and watering down the walls of the booth. Prior to spraying, two products that are you best friends namely, tack cloth and high end paint wax/grease cleaner to wipe down the entire car. I always spray a sealer for adhesion between the paint and primer. After sealer comes the most exciting process, the spraying of the color. Base coat sprays on in a medium wet fashion. No need to load it up with paint as Glasurit covers quickly in three coats. The high gloss clear goes on last. Taking it easy. I put on my headphones and chill.

Freddie,
Watched the Vimeo video and took a look at your shops website. From the surface it looks like more good things have come out of your shop than bad. In the video you come across as laid back and one who takes a relaxed approach to things which is, in my opinion, a very good thing. I see a bit of tongue & cheek in your replies here but some of the vitriol spewing from your keyboard just doesn't make sense. You posted your build, some found issue mainly with the front fender placement and commented on it. Take the criticism for what you paid for it an move on, hopefully soon you will find the right buyer who will agree with how you built the car and want to purchase it. Just being honest here brother, keep going down the path you've been going and you will do nothing but hurt yourself. The Porsche community is relativly tight knit and news about shops seems to travel fast. Hate to see a few misplaced replies on your part lead to bad word of mouth hurting your business. Just my thoughts, happy Thanksgiving everyone |

i agree with transcon. freddie, move on. you've built some amazing cars and i don't think anyone here is questioning your bona fides. that said, the knowledge base here is deep and the critiques fair.
there is no need for you to defend them. they are your choices and if you believe in them and find a buyer, awesome. the optics of you trolling all the locals here with your attitude are not good. there is no upside for you taking that tack. besides, if you are so good at what you do (by your own admission), why do you give a shlt what any of us think?...

Day drinking is also really hard on your liver when it goes on a few days in a row.

You can always pass on Esposito's info to the buyer so he can fix the fenders...err nevermind they just got their property locked up for not paying rent for a year!! Another example of skill but not enough business sense. Take the advice above and have some humility. I would already be fixing the fenders if it was my build.

If I had the money I would buy it fix everything wrong with it and then sell it at a loss just to salvage such a potentially beautiful car. So close but yet so far.

With your shallow rational, I strongly doubt you could even build a lego Porsche much less make a repair on your own fender. Best stick to what you are good at like being a pesky troll.
