Misrepresentation for sale ad of 928 GT

I informed the moderator black993. He is representing this car as a GT , when it is a standard S4. All GTs came with a manual transmission.

Porsche debuted the 928 GT in the late winter 1988/89 after dropping the slowly selling CS and SE. In terms of equipment, the GT was like the 928 SE, having more equipment than a Club Sport model but less than a 928 S4 to keep the weight down somewhat. It had the ZF 40% limited-slip differential as standard like the Club Sport and SE before it. Also like the CS and SE, the GT was only available with a manual gearbox.

Right you are....and at an asking price of $36,338....that's "GT" pricing, not "S4" pricing, imo.

Here is the Rennlist 928 vin decoder results...says it's a 5 speed GT, Or if you go one step further and select style, you can choose 928 S4 auto. I suspect, the dealer didn't.

Hagerty price guide gives same price for the GT and S4, but says there is a 20% price reduction for an automatic.
The asking price for this vehicle reflects the manual transmission valuation, not the automatic valuation.
IMO the wheels and tires as offered also detract from the value by whatever the cost of OE wheels and tires would be.

I actually emailed him regarding the eBay auction and he apologized and said he'd remove the GT reference....haven't checked to see whether he did as the price was so clearly out of range for the car.....

Nope. Porsche 928 S4 GT | eBay

But this thread pops up near the top of a google search, hopefully potential buyer does some research.

I PMd the user and informed him of his intentional misrepresentation. He states in his ad, "Very few of these cars made." Granted, S4s weren't made in large numbers, but we know what he's up to. Thanks guys.
